Background-Almost a hundred years after Cupra reached earth, swarms of his kind descended on Mars, the last stronghold of humankind since Gaia's emergence.Despite the best efforts of the military, the destroyers continued to advance, aided by unusually high sunspot activity that had shut the planets communication down. It was only the intervention of Luna and the Guardian of Earth that saved Mars, when, amidst the greatest solar storm seen since man colonized the red planet, they met the destroyers in battle. On the eve of that battle two events unfolded that would play an important role in things to come.The first was an unknown object crashing into an agricultural plant.The other was the discovery of a small child, abandoned in the streets of a suburb near the Martian capitol. For thirteen long years, peace continued to shine on the planet. Then, the destroyers returned. They're attacks were directed at a particular neighborhood in the Martian capitol. The neighborhood where the child lived. Breaking the hastily assembled defenses, the destroyers plowed their way towards a burning essence, a blossom of fire amongst the gray masses of humans. Yvaine, the foundling, was drawn towards the creatures, feeling an age old instinct burn in her chest. Her power awakened by the presence of the destroyers, Yvaine transformed, revealing her true form; Nova. The destroyers were swept aside like ants, Nova using speed and agility to attack them quicker than they could respond. Her tenacity, combined with the opressive essence of her burning core, sent the destroyers into terrified retreat, and earned her the title of Martian Guardian. Her continued triumphs would further this reputation, and her conflicts with Marscorp would lend her a cult following amongst the people of Mars. But Nova's ultimate test would be surviving the return of the greatest destroyer of all.
Nova has several featurs setting her apart from other incarnates. She a lot more warlike, with serrated blades and jagged fins.Her ears and head gems are different as well. She also posesses several abilities previously unseen in incarnates. These include her ability to disguise herself as a human. This seems to be a survival straegy, a means of ensuring the welfare of the young incarnate on a possibly hostile world. Nova's also unique in that she appeared as a child, something previously seen only in Luna and Gaia.
